Vietnamese people have many kinds of food for breakfast. Among those, fish cake noodle soup – Bun cha ca is one of the most popular kind of breakfast in Central Vietnam. You can find it mostly everywhere here. However, fish cake noodle soup in Danang is the best one.

The main ingredients in bun cha ca is poached or grilled ground fish, and the broth is made from tomato, pineapple, pumpkin, bamboo shoot and other herbs. Bun cha ca is well-known and distinctive in Central Vietnam where fishery is one of the most vital professions of the local people. The fish are thus always fresh and best in quality. The real fish cake noodle soup does not have the smell of fish, just the fragrant aroma of noodle bowl mingled with sugary vegetables and moreish broth which makes any eaters want to pay their compliments on it. Bun cha ca is tasty and nutritious at reasonable price.

Fish cake noodle soup is also eaten with raw vegetables such as lettuce, basil, cinnamon, live bean sprouts. Crushed chili and garlic and pickled onions dipped in vinegar and sugar are especially indispensable for fish cake noodle soup. Beside this dish, Danang people interested in sliced fish noodle. People use fresh sliced pieces of fish cook lightly with spices instead of fish cake. Depending on each season in Danang, they use mackerel, tuna or kingfish.

There are many fish cake noodle stalls here. Here are some stalls you should visit if convenient: the stall on Hoang Dieu Street (right next to the building Hoang Anh Gia Lai) sells all day from 7h – 21h; one selling all night on Hung Vuong street, one selling only in the morning from 6am – 10am on Tran Cao Van Street (opposite Tam Toa market). All are extremely affordable, from 20,000 Vnd – 25,000 Vnd per bowl.
